Importance of anecdotes
A few days ago, I accepted a reading challenge with my friends in which each one of us was supposed to read three books in a month. I picked all three self-help books. Often, you can not expect some fictional characters in these books. However, there can be incidents of a person’s life, which serve the purpose of motivation.
The third book that I completed today is not only helpful but also exceptional. The author has a unique writing style. In her book, “13 things mentally strong people don’t do”, she starts each chapter with her client’s story describing the mistakes made by her in her life. Then she goes on to outline a famous person’s life and tells how he keep himself mentally strong during a struggle. The author uses two anecdotes in each chapter, which make it easy to understand and convey her message.
The point is that the usage of anecdotes in your writing can have a significant impact on the reader and therefore make your writing enjoyable to anyone.
