Be true to yourself

Do you tell a lie to yourself? If your answer is no, then you need to ask this, “ Am I cheating on me, or am I even speaking the truth?” It is quite normal when you lie to your parents for staying late outside. It is also absolutely fine when you give some excuse when you forget to wish a friend on her birthday. But it is not ok when you are fooling yourself.

Often you make vows to yourself that you will start going to the gym next Monday onwards. You will also follow a proper diet. And you will invest your time in reading a book rather than scrolling on social media. But the reality is you catch yourself binge-watching tv shows instead of doing something productive. You also miss many of those Mondays when you were supposed to start working out. Why does it happen?

The answer is straightforward that we are deceiving ourselves. We continue to keep up the pretense. If you need to hit the gym on time, follow proper food habits, or even read the book, which is getting dust in the bookshelf, you have to do it now rather than deferring. Don’t lament later with these small lies; instead, be true to yourself.
